The White Stripes will send off Conan

This is the last week for episodes of Late Night With Conan O’Brien. Today marks the second to last episode of the show and, to be honest, I’m getting emotional. My daily weeknights at college for the last four years have been strictly structured around Conan and in just two short days, that will be no more. Anyway, the guests and surprises have been big this last week on Late Night, commemorating the show’s style, greatest moments, biggest blunders, and paying respects to Mr. O’Brien before he moves out to California for The Tonight Show. Anyway, tomorrow night is the final show and Conan has booked an always reliable, always awesome act to shut it down – The White Stripes.

Conan is a music connoissieur and his impeccable taste is one of the show’s finest qualities. In fact, to promote their album Elephant, Jack and Meg took up a four night residency at Studio 6A in 30 Rock and rocked it every night. Here’s a performance of “Let’s Build A Home” and it is dirrty:

Who would have thought anyone would put better use to Conan’s desk than Conan himself?
Sick.
Conan was also in their music video for “The Denial Twist,” superbly directed by Michel Gondry. Check it out here.
Anyway, I imagine the White Stripes are going to really rock it out hard tomorrow night, maybe unleash some surprises on us. Only time will tell. Tune in tonight for appearances by Jerry Seinfeld and Craig Bierko.
