Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Announces Newest Nominees!

I recently came across a musical dilemma when I asked myself, “What do American rock band Kiss and heartthrob hottie LL Cool J have in common?” Well sure both use an inordinate amount of tongue thrusting and display a sufficient amount of shirtlessness. However, there had to be something else – and now there is.

This morning the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation announced their newest nominees for induction into the honors society of music. Kiss, LL Cool J, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Genesis, and ABBA are among the few nominated for this prestigious tribute. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which has been continually criticized for its voting processes, seems to have made this upcoming year’s ballot a bit more musically diverse, hitting upon many different genres such as rock, pop, and hip hop, just to name a few. In the past, the judges and nominators have been condemned for the supposed theory that nominations were based on personal tastes rather than true musical talent and prevalence.

Regardless of the previous controversy battles, this year’s final list of inductees will be sure to be diverse and prolific in their own right. The final list of inductees will be announced in January and the induction ceremony will take place in New York’s elegant Waldorf Astoria on March 15, 2010. Keep your eyes and ears peeled, and tongues continually thrusting.
