Venue Review: Rock & Roll Hotel
Story by: Hanna Sarangan

Located on H Street, Washington, DC, the Rock N Roll Hotel is a great place for people of all ages to have a good time. Shows, which usually price from $10-$15, are open to everyone, and admission to the second floor (21+) is free. The vintage-themed deco provides a nice vibe and different suites can be rented out for special occasions.
Facilities consist of a satellite jukebox, billiards, the DJ booth, the lounge, and the hotel bar, all of which can be booked. The usual crowd is comprised of a wide variety of people, so if you’re anyone looking for some fun, the venue is likely to suit your fancy. In case you were wondering how to get there, a free shuttle service is provided from several metro stations.
“Rock & Roll Hotel hosts artists from all genres, but overall we focus on alternative/indie, and up and coming artists”, says Steve Lambert, Talent Buyer & Booking Manager of the venue. “Personally, I come from a very underground background, so I tend to keep my finger on the pulse on what is coming out. Overall though, I try to secure artists that DC and the surrounding region will have interest in”, he said when I inquired as to how his personal taste in music affects the bands that Rock N Roll Hotel features.
Upcoming events at Rock n Roll Hotel include The Petticoat Tea Room, Radio Fatale, and Pressing Strings (March 4), Sondre Lerche, and JBM (March 5), MASS APPEAL, with AutoRock (March 6), and The Gayest Kids You Know with Djs Keenan and Metaphysical (March 13). For the complete calendar of upcoming events, check out the venue’s website.
